A successful independent financial adviser (IFA) has been nominated for two prestigious awards at the 2026 Women in Financial Advice Awards.

Christine Tarran, founder of Tarran & Co Financial Planning and Her Invest, has been recognised in the Outstanding Contribution to the Profession category and also for the fourth time in the Financial Adviser of the Year – North East category.

The exciting news follows the official launch of Her Invest – a new empowering financial service for women to become more financially independent at all ages and stages of their lives – at Porsche Teesside Centre in Stockton earlier this month.

VIP launch of Her Invest

“At Her Invest, we’re passionate about championing women forging a career within financial services and helping more women to feel confident accessing financial advice,” said Christine, who has almost 30 years’ experience as an IFA.

“Her Invest was created to provide a more approachable, supportive and tailored experience for women, because financial planning should feel accessible to everyone.

“The Women in Financial Advice Awards are an important celebration of the incredible women shaping our industry, particularly in a profession where women continue to be underrepresented.

“It’s inspiring to see a record number of nominations this year, recognising 1,164 women across the UK financial services sector. Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees, we are proud to be recognised alongside so many inspiring women making a difference in financial advice.”

Tarran & Co/Her Invest team

Tarran & Co Financial Planning, which is based in Darlington and has clients across the UK, has a team of fully independent and regulated advisers who work with clients to create bespoke, tailored advice and financial planning.

Christine recently officially launched Her Invest as she wants to empower more women to take control of their finances and be more financially savvy and secure.

“The difference between men and women when it comes to finance is stark,” said Christine.

“British women retire with a pension around 37% lower than men’s and only 32% of women are confident that they are saving enough for retirement (compared to 48% of men). With a divorce rate of 42% and with women typically covered for life insurance for up to 20% less than men, women need to be independently financially secure.

“We have found that there are several barriers to women investing their money: time, confidence and knowing where to go for advice. We want Her Invest to empower women to take charge of their own futures.”
